  • Driver education is comprised of two parts. The first part is the online course or classroom course and the second is behind-the-wheel (BTW).
  • The total cost for driver education is $475 (traditional classroom and BTW) or $485 + $24.95 (online/BTW + online book). You may pay for the two parts separately classroom ($175) or online ($185 + $24.95) and then behind-the-wheel ($300).
  • The textbook for online students is purchased directly from the AAA website, and is required for an online student.
  • Online students must complete the course in under 20 weeks.
  • Students must complete the classroom or online course before starting behind the wheel.
  • Your teen may register for BTW with another driving school once they receive the classroom/online course completion certificate. Please contact us to let us know if this is what you wish to do.

If you are registering for Behind the Wheel lessons and your teen is not a student in that District, then you will need to confirm registration placement before submitting payment. Due to the pandemic many districts are not allowing students outside their district to take BTW lessons. Please email us at driversedsupport@cesa2.org with your teen's full name and home school district; we will need to review prior to accepting payment. If you do not contact us and are out-of-district this may result in our not being able to conduct BTW lessons with your teen. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE:

We have temporarily closed BTW registrations for the following districts due to the negative pandemic effects/impacts on BTW scheduling: Middleton, Mt. Horeb and Stoughton. We will continue conducting BTW lessons for teens who were already registered for their BTW by 12/6/2022. We apologize for the inconvenience for this temporary closing of BTW registrations in these districts. We will update our website and affected districts when we reopen BTW registrations.
